(More customer reviews)This is the best waffle mix you can buy. I was able to purchase this at Publix for years then it became hard to find. I had to purchase from a online seller buy the case. Not a problem-freezes well for over a year in box. The packs are two to a box-five waffles to a pack(min.). Add blueberries and you have yourself a great breakfest. All other store brand Belgian Waffle mix offered in every store chain pale in comparsion. The person that said this was awful... a few ideas. Heat the water you add for 1 minute in microwave- this makes the dough rise for fluffy waffles-then do the same for the butter you add to the mix ( this adds moisture to the dough) stir in blueberries and everyone here asks for seconds. My husband eats breakfest in Amsterdam six times a month and he has never complained nor made comparisions about these waffles- nothing but excellent taste with a real hint of malt flavoring.
Some math- National Breakfest Chain $7.00 for one Belgian Waffles or 10 waffles for $3.79 plus the cost of the blueberries- how can you beat that! Don't forget the fresh whipped cream!

So it uses butter instead of oil, big deal, that's part of the rich creamy flavor. Don't believe the naysayers, this mix is outstanding. I have been using it for 7 years and I wouldn't buy any other kind.

(More customer reviews)This is a very good substitute for real pancakes. I'm celiac and have tried some truly abysmal rice pancake mixes, but this buckwheat is wonderful. I make it with a pinch of salt and use buttermilk, and it's even more like Bisquick taste. On my first attempt and just mixing by guess it made a very respectable crepe by thinning with milk and a little International Delight cinnamon hazelnut coffee creamer. It's near impossible to burn, much more forgiving than wheat to extra heat. I can't imagine what the pan review was tasting but it wasn't this mix.

They have great taste and texture and don't crumble in to peices when you try to make a smore with them. Because these are so thick I don't know how well you can crush them up for crusts. But if you had a food processer I am sure you could do it. I have tried the chocolate, cinnimon, and regular and love them all. As do my kids. You won't regret getting these. mmmmm mmmm good.

I was pleased to find it available on Amazon! I have just ordered a case (four boxes) and signed up for the subscribe and save program which makes the price of this item better than I've seen anywhere! I usually bake from scratch, and, as you might see in other reviews I've written, I've been disappointed in gluten free mixes. However, this mix makes pancakes and waffles a snap...and it really tastes good! I also made the pineapple cake recipe on the back of the box and got rave reviews! It was really delicious and really easy. I make a lot of pancakes because my hubby loves to take PBJ's in his lunch and I don't always have the time to bake bread for his sandwiches. One time, when I had some pancakes left over from our breakfast, I made PBJ's using the pancakes instead of bread. He dubbed them "panwiches" and loves them. I cook up a bunch of pancakes, let them cool, make the sandwiches, and then freeze them in baggies for an easy grab and go lunch box item! Unlike breads, cooking them up takes little time, so, whenever I run out I know I can fix up some "panwiches" quickly! Oh, and I often put a glob of peanut butter in the batter (beat till smooth) to add even more to the flavor! Although, this price is a bit high for 12 - I buy them individually from Cumberland Farms Deli section for only $1.79 each ($1.79 x 12 = $21.48).

(More customer reviews)This mix makes wonderful crispy on the outside tender on the inside waffles however they were so sweet that by the time you put syrup or any other topping on it they get so sickeningly sweet you can hardly eat them. Its like they put in too much vanilla or something. To me the whole point of a waffle or pancake is that they be more of a plain base that compliments whatever toppings you choose to put on them. They shouldn't compete with the flavor of the toppings. With these being so sweet already it was just way too much. Seriously, you could just butter and eat them with no additional topping. Will continue to look for something more akin to original waffles and pancakes.

I was worried when I discovered this product that the shipping would fail as it usually does with "cold" and "frozen" products. I was delighted that when it did ship (a reasonable delay from order to ship), it was packed in a foam cooler with dried ice. It arrived within 2 days of shipping clearly intact and marked very well on the box that it was a frozen perishable item. I know it's priced high, but for me the convenience of online availablity outweighs the cost. And, the product is excellent. Kudos to Amazon for this item and the shipping care they displayed.

(More customer reviews)Okay, there is something I'm not crazy about with this mix: made as directed the batter is too thick, making doughy pancakes. Even when I add extra milk, it quickly thickens up again.
BUT, with enough extra milk and cooked before the batter can re-thicken, these really taste as good as regular mixes, better than Whole Foods' "365" mix (where egg is optional but you really miss it if it's not there), and 'way better than the recipes we've tried with egg substitutes. This is a blessing for my son who loves pancakes but is allergic to eggs, and for the rest of us who aren't allergic but just love pancakes on a Saturday morning.
