Before I discover this mix on Amazon I always bought it in Whole Food Store.
I like this mix and when I am doing the pancakes they came very delicious and fluffy.
Just one small secret: Try to add the Seltzer water instead of regular one.

(More customer reviews)I ordered these as an alternative to high glycemic-index, calorie/sugar rich pancakes (which I love), enticed by the whole wheat and protein advertised but still pretty skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these are really delicious--they take a little longer than normal pancakes to cook, thanks to the thick consistency created by the cottage cheese, but they taste really good and are very good for you (if you use fat-free cottage cheese and egg whites instead of the usual ingredients, its even better for you and still tastes great). I spread mine with sugar-free strawberry jam and douse them with sugar-free syrup: perfect!
What's more, after two medium sized pancakes (the smallest recipe size on the box makes about four medium pancakes) you're really full, so you don't need much mix to make yourself and a friend some healthy breakfast!

(More customer reviews)This is the best waffle mix you can buy. I was able to purchase this at Publix for years then it became hard to find. I had to purchase from a online seller buy the case. Not a problem-freezes well for over a year in box. The packs are two to a box-five waffles to a pack(min.). Add blueberries and you have yourself a great breakfest. All other store brand Belgian Waffle mix offered in every store chain pale in comparsion. The person that said this was awful... a few ideas. Heat the water you add for 1 minute in microwave- this makes the dough rise for fluffy waffles-then do the same for the butter you add to the mix ( this adds moisture to the dough) stir in blueberries and everyone here asks for seconds. My husband eats breakfest in Amsterdam six times a month and he has never complained nor made comparisions about these waffles- nothing but excellent taste with a real hint of malt flavoring.
Some math- National Breakfest Chain $7.00 for one Belgian Waffles or 10 waffles for $3.79 plus the cost of the blueberries- how can you beat that! Don't forget the fresh whipped cream!

(More customer reviews)This is a very good substitute for real pancakes. I'm celiac and have tried some truly abysmal rice pancake mixes, but this buckwheat is wonderful. I make it with a pinch of salt and use buttermilk, and it's even more like Bisquick taste. On my first attempt and just mixing by guess it made a very respectable crepe by thinning with milk and a little International Delight cinnamon hazelnut coffee creamer. It's near impossible to burn, much more forgiving than wheat to extra heat. I can't imagine what the pan review was tasting but it wasn't this mix.

They have great taste and texture and don't crumble in to peices when you try to make a smore with them. Because these are so thick I don't know how well you can crush them up for crusts. But if you had a food processer I am sure you could do it. I have tried the chocolate, cinnimon, and regular and love them all. As do my kids. You won't regret getting these. mmmmm mmmm good.

(More customer reviews)I bought one box of this pancake and waffle mix and couldn't remember where I had gotten it! I really liked it...better than some other GF mixes I'd tried. I was pleased to find it available on Amazon! I have just ordered a case (four boxes) and signed up for the subscribe and save program which makes the price of this item better than I've seen anywhere! I usually bake from scratch, and, as you might see in other reviews I've written, I've been disappointed in gluten free mixes. However, this mix makes pancakes and waffles a snap...and it really tastes good! I also made the pineapple cake recipe on the back of the box and got rave reviews! It was really delicious and really easy. I make a lot of pancakes because my hubby loves to take PBJ's in his lunch and I don't always have the time to bake bread for his sandwiches. One time, when I had some pancakes left over from our breakfast, I made PBJ's using the pancakes instead of bread. He dubbed them "panwiches" and loves them. I cook up a bunch of pancakes, let them cool, make the sandwiches, and then freeze them in baggies for an easy grab and go lunch box item! Unlike breads, cooking them up takes little time, so, whenever I run out I know I can fix up some "panwiches" quickly! Oh, and I often put a glob of peanut butter in the batter (beat till smooth) to add even more to the flavor! (More customer reviews)I was sick of eggs. And sick of cornflakes. So when I spotted the Pancake mix from Bob's, I had to try it. Like all of their products, it was really easy to make - just like any pancake mix. The first batch I made, however, were... well, let's say "Dense." I was feeding a guest, who clutched his throat and asked for liquid to wash it down. But I didn't think they were THAT bad, considering the wheat free sludge I'd engaged before. So, I drowned mine in maple syrup and thought it was quite tasty.
The next time, I tried modifying the recipe a bit with fruit - fresh blueberries to be exact. And those came out a lot moister and less dense. Mmm... blueberry pancakes... wonderful! I've tried other fruit, tossed in applesauce once... and each time, I got interesting twists on much moister pancakes.
I still don't eat them often -- just when I'm having a "help, I can't eat another egg" moment. Actually, they are good as part of a big brunch, with an egg over easy on top. Since can't eat bread with my eggs, it takes the place of toast.
I've wondered if whipping these frothy with a beater might help but haven't tried it yet. All in all, they're tasty, if a little thick, very filling and easy to whip up.

(More customer reviews)This mix makes wonderful crispy on the outside tender on the inside waffles however they were so sweet that by the time you put syrup or any other topping on it they get so sickeningly sweet you can hardly eat them. Its like they put in too much vanilla or something. To me the whole point of a waffle or pancake is that they be more of a plain base that compliments whatever toppings you choose to put on them. They shouldn't compete with the flavor of the toppings. With these being so sweet already it was just way too much. Seriously, you could just butter and eat them with no additional topping. Will continue to look for something more akin to original waffles and pancakes.

(More customer reviews)Just so you know, there are no peanuts in this mix. You have the option to add any nut butter of your choice. I'd been wanting "peanut butter" cookies for years since our allergies were diagnosed, but peanuts are not an option for us. I made this mix using Sunbutter Natural Sunflower Seed Spread, 16-Ounce Plastic Jars (Pack of 6) and it was EXACTLY like the peanut butter cookies my mom used to make (you know, the ones rolled in sugar and pressed with a fork). I'm planning to make some more with dairy free chocolate- like the hershey's kiss ones- for Christmas. The batch made with one bag was huge. About double the amount you usually get from a cookie mix. Anyway, I highly recommend this mix. As a matter of fact, I haven't tried anything from the Cravings Place that didn't taste like the original gluten version I remember so go ahead and try whatever sounds good. You won't be disappointed!
