(More customer reviews)This mix saved my life. After being diagnosed with celiac disease, I tried all the "great" gluten-free bread machine recipes I could find (I am awful at baking bread by hand). They were all uniformly and unequivocally TERRIBLE. They were dense, didn't rise properly, caved in at the top or sides, etc etc etc. They also all tasted very gluten-free.
This mix, though is wonderful. It rises, sticks together very well for a fluffy gluten-free bread (it still has the tendancy to fall apart if not toasted), makes wonderful croutons and stuffing, browns properly and only occasionally caves in a little bit.
Things I have learned with this mix that help it a great deal:
1. Let the loaf sit in the bread machine for at least 20 minutes after it stops baking. (I have the standard Oster bread machine that was popular when the bread machine rose to popularity.)
2. Make it with rice milk. To me, cow's milk and almond milk taste funny with this recipe.
3. Let it cool for a good long while, it is very moist and will fall apart if you try to slice it immediately.

(More customer reviews)When I bought these online I was hoping they would be delicious. I got them in and immediatly made hot dogs for the family. With these buns I found they needed to be microwaved to really get a hot dog bun taste to them. However, what I found to be even better is that with the size they looked more like hoagies to me, so of course I had to make hoagies and steak and cheese sandwiches with these!!! I made the steak and cheese, then I put the sandwich together and into the oven. OMG!!! I will never buy anything else again!! I know some people just want hot dog buns, but I found a better use for them. My kids still love to have their hot dogs on these buns, but I prefer them for steak and cheese. I am happy and the kids are happy. Some people complain because these are not precut, ummm, so what!?! if you have a knife you can split them the way you want:) these are also great for making pizza. I know these are hot dog buns, but I really dont like hot dogs so found other uses. again my kids love them with hot dogs!!

(More customer reviews)When traveling to Disney with my Grandkids, we ate at the Steakhouse at the Contemporary Hotel, I explained that I had Celiac Sprue, and could have no gluten. The chef said he had a special roll that was Gluten free and would give me 2 if I wanted. I said I had never found an eatable roll, but I would try. Well, it was the best "BREAD" I had had since I was diagnosed with CS. What a treat. I asked him what it was, and he said it was a product form ENER-G, available on the internet and that he (and several other restaurants at Disney, I discovered) serve them to people with food allergies all the time. Are they perfect? No, but they are as good as I have been able to find.

(More customer reviews)I had been trying to make GF cornbread from scratch with limited success. Now I don't have to! Tried this for the first time and it is excellent. Only had to use 1/3 of the bag for 6 muffins so, at $2.50 per bag, it's not at all expensive. Now I can make casaroles with cornbread topping, etc. I also am not fond of the Bob's mixes with the bean flour (taste really funny and beany) but this one is a keeper.

The quality of the product I bought at the store was great and I love this product not only for taste and versatility but it is low cal. However, I was disappointed in the product I received via Amazon. It seemed that the toast was very brittle and if I had to guess I bet it was because maybe it was past its prime shelf life. I will still continue to order groceries from Amazon because for the most part I have been satisfied.

(More customer reviews)We've been using this bread mix for about a year, as it's the best gluten-free bread mix I've found. I usually make the sweet bread and it's very good, although it would make a great savory bread with herbs as well. I didn't even think to try to make pizza crust with it, as we were using a mix specifically for pizza crust from another popular gluten-free brand, which I didn't really like (too light and thick like a deep dish, but without flavor). I just tried Pamela's bread mix for pizza crust and it was amazing. Not too thick and a bit chewy just like "real" pizza crust. I did add the italian spices which are optional but suggested in the directions, and it was wonderful. The first decent pizza we've had since we've been gluten-free!

(More customer reviews)Who knew bread could make me cry!! With a new diagnosis and a grumpy picky 15 year old son.... I was at my wits end to find something, anything he would like. I literally held my breath when I put this mix together in my bread maker (2lb wellbuilt - and it actually overflowed my bread pan!!) anyways... signs on the doors to be quiet for fear the bread might fall.... sniffing the air every 10 minutes thinking "Yup smells like bread... could it be??". It had just cooled when my son walked in the door starving.... (being in high school, football, and lunch time have been rough!!) I ask him to sit down I've got something for him.... holding my breath some more - watching his first bite and him jumping up and down, "Mom is this for real? This is AWESOME!" Let me say that again, "This is AWESOME" now when have any of us heard those words from our teenagers mouth in relation to anything. I got huge hugs, kisses and high fives, I think he even was dancing!!! My other 4 kids in the house tried it and couldn't believe it wasn't "regular" bread!! That is saying something cause let's me honest there are some out there that you just can't fake liking, even a little bit!! The other kids are so happy that he is happy cause these last couple of weeks have been rough on all of us, mostly on him. Thank You Thank You Thank YOu - you won't be sorry with this mix!!
