(More customer reviews)I had ordered this for Christmas presents. It was never rec'd but I'd ordered so much I had missed not receiving it. I let the vendor know, and in not the best way--thanks to poor Amazon UI, I could leave a review, but not easily just click to let the vendor know of the problem. (Are you listening Amazon???).
Anyway, we did not expect to hear anything about it. Order was two months old. But I rec'd an email from igourmet who wanted to rectify the situation. Of course, they asked me if 'we wanted to receive the caviar we had ordered--which is kind of like asking if someone wants to have an IQ of 10 or more--but they *did* go to the trouble of trying to fix the problem. They offered to send the product we hadn't rec'd.
Which cost them a pretty penny I'm sure, since it is only a couple of ounces and had to be shipped w/some kind of cold.
Unfortunately, they went through all this trouble (and this is the point, right?), but the caviar showed up in this over-large box, with a melted something--not enough to last the number of days it was shipped.
I'm sure if you order a number of items, that igourmet will take care of you. And they will try to rectify the situation if you do not receive something. Unfortunately, they need to learn to pack better, for small orders.
I give them 4 stars, because they *want* to make customers happy. Actually they get 6 stars for this (it's all too rare in this world). But I had to subtract something because there's no way we're eating this caviar. When the package showed up w/no refrigeration, and the jar was warm, we just tossed it. I don't want to bother these people again. I've ordered other stuff from igourmet and they need better shipping policies, not better people.
Just make sure you tell them it needs to show up *cold*. Perhaps they'll start using dry ice, like Allen Brothers and other good and experienced shippers. They definitely have the customer service right.

Lumpfish caviar is an excellent alternative to pricier Caspian Sea varieties.This specialty caviar is a perfect addition to a gourmet meal; used as a substitute in recipes calling for the more traditional roes.It also makes a beautiful garnish, especially alongside sushi. (More customer reviews)I'm sick of scads of nasty toothpicks all over my counter when I'm tinting icings; the squeeze-bottle concept is one that is long overdue and exceptionally welcome. The colors are vibrant, do not have an offensive taste, and blend, in my opinion, more smoothly than the Wilton pastes. You'll need to experiment a bit to get hues right at first, but it's well worth it.

(More customer reviews)It is fabulous that there is an all natural food dye safe to use for my child allergic to anything chemical and artificial in his food. However, the dye is thick and goopy and makes the frosting much thicker and pastier than it should be, not smooth at all. Also, you can not get a rich deep color with this stuff so plan for everything to be pastel if you need anything darker rather than lighter in color. Still, over all, because it is one of the fewest choices I have to color my candy and desserts for my child on the Feingold diet, I recommend it to at least try. The price is much too steep though for the quality the product doesn't give.

(More customer reviews)The spectra paste food colors are simply fantastic. They provide a depth and clarity of color that is impossible to achieve with liquid food colors. And the hues are beautiful and distinctive. The black and red, two colors which are very difficult to get when dying frostings, etc. are especially nice - probably the best of any manufacturer I have tried.
For those who had questions, I am not 100% certain about the sizes, but if the set is the same as mine, the bottles are 3/4 ounce. While that might not seem like much, all you need is a dot of this thick gel paste at the end of a toothpick to color large amounts of material. So there is plenty of coloring ability in each bottle - many, many times more than a same sized liquid food color bottle.
Highly recommended and at a really good price at the time of this review.
