Just top a toasted english muffin with a slice of candian bacon or a strip of bacon broken in half, a poached egg and dribble this sauce over top- voila! This sauce mix stores well in small spaces,& is always on hand for last minute extra ooomph! to a variety of dishes. Knorr changed the recipe a few years back to make it a little more heart-friendly (it used to call for a whole stick of butter and 1/4c less milk. If you want to be really decadent- go ahead!) For added flavor, I recommend squeezing the juice of 1/4 of a lemon into the sauce right before serving.

Hollandaise means Holland-style or from Holland. This is a French sauce that originated in 19th century French cuisine. Most historians agree that it was originally called Sauce Isigny after a town in Normandy known for its butter. During World War I, butter production came to a halt in France and had to be imported from Holland. The name was changed to Hollandaise to indicate the source of the butter and was never changed back.
